1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Cosigned (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service. You must be able to form a legally binding agreement under applicable law in your jurisdiction to create an account and submit products or endorsements.

2. Accounts & Authentication

Cosigned accounts are authenticated using Google OAuth via Supabase Auth. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your authenticated account and for maintaining the security of your Google credentials.

Google OAuth authenticates account access, but Cosigned does not perform real-world identity verification or background checks on account holders. You agree not to create or operate multiple or fake accounts for the purpose of manipulating platform metrics, rankings, or endorsements.

3. What Cosigned Is & How Platform Signals Work

Cosigned is a discovery and social-proof platform designed for software builders and their communities. The core platform mechanisms operate under these rules:

• Cosign: A Cosign is an authenticated public endorsement of a product. Each authenticated account may Cosign a specific product only once.
• All-Time Cosigns: All-Time Cosigns represent cumulative lifetime counts and do not artificially reset.
• Trending: The Trending view displays products ranked by Cosigns received over the trailing 7-day period.
• New Products: The New view showcases newly listed products chronologically.
• Reasons: A Reason is an optional, user-authored statement accompanying a Cosign. Reasons are publicly visible. Reasons do not increase or alter a product's ranking or Cosign count.
• Builder Transparency: When a product's builder Cosigns their own product, this is transparently disclosed with a "Backed by the builder" indicator.
• Product-Page Visits: Product-page visits are recorded solely for private builder analytics. Visit counts are accessible only to the product's builder, are never displayed publicly, and never affect rankings or Cosign counts.
• Pricing: Cosigned is currently free to use. Listing products and casting Cosigns do not require payment.

4. Acceptable Use & Platform Integrity

Cosigned is built on genuine community support. To preserve platform integrity, you agree not to:

• Create duplicate, disposable, or coordinated accounts to manipulate Cosign counts, visit statistics, or rankings.
• Use bots, automated scripts, vote-trading networks, or purchase endorsements to artificially inflate metrics.
• Submit fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, unlawful, or infringing product listings or Reasons.
• Attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication boundaries, or badge verification mechanisms.
• Impersonate any person, brand, company, or third-party product.

We reserve the right to remove listings, delete abusive Reasons, adjust manipulated Cosign counts, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

5. Builder Content & Intellectual Property

Builders retain all intellectual property rights to the products, logos, descriptions, and media they submit ("Builder Content"). By listing a product, you grant Cosigned a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, host, and format the submitted content solely for operating, indexing, and presenting the product on Cosigned.

You represent that you have the right and authority to submit your Builder Content and that it does not infringe third-party intellectual property or violate applicable laws. The Cosigned name, design, branding, and platform software remain the exclusive property of Cosigned.

6. Verification Badge

A product may earn a "Verified" badge when our automated system confirms the presence of the Cosigned badge embed on the builder's live product website, triggered when verification is requested.

The Verified badge indicates only that the embed was detected on the builder's site during verification. It does not represent an endorsement, security review, business audit, or real-world identity verification of the builder or company. Badge status is not subject to real-time or continuous monitoring.

7. Account Deletion & Data Handling

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. When you delete your account, your personal profile information, your listed products, and your Reasons are permanently deleted.

To uphold the permanent integrity of historical platform metrics, historical Cosign counts on third-party products are preserved anonymously without retaining or displaying your personal identity, avatar, or account information.

8. Paid Features & Billing

Cosigned is currently free to use. Should optional paid features be introduced in the future, we will update these Terms and provide clear pricing and refund policies prior to processing any payments.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Cosigned is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee continuous, error-free operation or the accuracy of community-submitted content. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cosigned shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the Service.
